Dr. T. N. Suresh Kumar (Scientist) has travelled more than 153 countries and all 7 continents in last 21 years.

Dr. T. N. Suresh Kumar loves to travel. He always wanted to travel all over the world. He is a curious traveller who explores the world every year. He calls himself a Theme Traveller, Adventurer and Explorer with a purpose. He started as a traveller but later Geographical aspects of earth treasures like Geysers, Volcanoes, Greenwich timeline, Forest, Deserts and many more made his travel more interesting and adventurous.  He has travelled more than 150 countries and all 7 continents in last 21 years. For a person from middle class family, dreaming very high and converting it into reality is something like building castles in the air.

He was a scientist in ISRO where he worked at various locations and involved in many major projects. He contributed for the development of India’s first communication satellite APPLE. Later he joined INSAT satellite program at Hassan. He was deputed by ISRO to Teleglobe station, Canada for INSAT mission operations. He was launch and mission operations team member for more than 30 Satellite launches like INSATs and GSATs and many more. He was one of the shortlisted astronauts to go to space by NASA as an Indian Payload Specialist in 1985, but that program was abandoned due to explosion of space shuttle. He missed the chance to go to space, but he decided to touch each and every part of the globe, if not space. He was an avid traveller who loved to travel most and had a curiosity to find new things and visit new places on earth. He also likes to visit unexplored places. So, he became the first Indian to visit some of the places on globe.

He is the first Indian to go to “The Edge of Space – The Stratosphere” as a tourist from Russia; to experience “Zero Gravity” in Russia; to explore Sahara Desert, Nyiragongo Active Volcano and Easter Island in centre of Pacific Ocean. He participated in Antarctic Expedition to witness the Aurora Australis. He tested Coriolis Effect of Earth on the Equator passing through Kenya, Uganda and Ecuador. He visited many active volcanoes like Mount Yasur Volcano and many more.

He was honoured by Greenland TV Media on his 100^th Country Visit at Greenland. He gives credit to his wife who stood like a backbone for all his endeavours. His travel did not affect any of his official responsibilities. He saved money for all his travels without seeking help from any source/ sponsor. He is grateful to God for giving the strength to do all things with his own individual effort. He loves Photography, Videography and educating students about Space science, Earth Science etc.
